The AMT exemption amounts have been raised for 2008 and taxpayers are allowed to take nonrefundable personal credits to reduce any AMT liability.

• $66,250 - Married Filing Jointly & Surviving Spouse
• $44,350 - Single & Head of Household
• $33,125 - Married Filing Separate
